Shakira in Turkey

Shakira came with her boyfriend Antonio La Rua to Göcek on Sunday morning for the show "Wetten Dass" and its upcoming summer special program from Antalya.

With the organisation of Kalimçe Travel and Tourism Agency, she went on board of "Prenses Lila", a 28 meter luxury yacht with 8 cabins, and visited the 12 islands with it. She went to Göcek, Hacý Halil and Yassýca islands and finally anchored on Tuesday evening in Boynuzbükü cove/bay five miles away from Göcek.

There, she drove jet ski and surfed with her boyfriend Antonio and ate seafood salad (perch, cuttlefish and calamari) and drank raki. The beaufitful artist got excited for a moment when her boyfriend Antonio fell off the jet ski. The crew of "Prenses Lila" hurried to help him; it was said that he hurt his back.

Shakira also drove through the bays/coves with the small boat "Hale" and went ashore at Göcek port with her boyfriend and two other friends in the evening for strolling and shopping.

With Shakira's arriving, the town of Göcek started to perk up. Especially in the evening hours Shakira fans from the region and neighbour towns came to the port and waited for hours in order to see the famous star.

Shakira went ashore in the evening and went to the famous barber Osman Tosun. There she got her hair made again after it was messed up a bit by the wind when she was on the boat and also got a shoulder and back massage. She tried to answer in Turkish to the Turkish journalists who were there for her. She often repeated the Turkish words she learnt and said "Hello, Turkey is very beautiful, I liked it a lot, I will come back. I am reading the news about me in the newspapers, I like it a lot. This place is like heaven. I was working very hard before I came here, and now after three days my tiredness is gone."

While Shakira strolled in Göcek town/stores at Tuesday night, the seamen prepared a fireworks display for her. When Shakira entered the small boat for returning to the yacht, the fireworks started and lasted for some 15 minutes.

Shakira also gave some interviews to Turkish newspapers and TV stations. She said "I will come back to Fethiye for vacation. Therefore, I am learning Turkish. People are very warmhearted and sympathetic, the next time I come here I will be able to speak Turkish."

Shakira was asked about her recent habit of not wearing much makeup, she replied with "When you get older, you want to feel more natural. I managed to make my life simpler. Now I live with less complexes."

They also asked her how come she can dance so well. She answered "It's because I eat kebap so much."

When Shakira and the people accompanying her were on their way to Aspendos, they stopped at a small grocery in Serik. She spent some 10 minutes there and came out with haricot bean, chickpeas, rice, noodles, cookies, wafers (sort of), Magnum ice cream and Elle magazine. All these things cost 22 YTL(=12,7 Euro).
